FOKANA convenes national committee meet
FOKANA's national committee meet which was held at the Kerala Cultural Centre in New York on January 17 discussed about its future course of action. The meet attended by the office bearers of America and Canada discussed about the convention to be held in 2010 and about its regional functioning.

The meet was presided over by FOKANA president Paul Karukapally. The meet lauded the services of former board of trustee chairman T S Chacko and felicitated the newly elected chairman Mathew Kokura, vice chairman Jacob Padavathil and secretary Sudha Kartha.

The old panel handed over the documents including the audited accounts to the new office bearers at the joint committee meet held before the national committee. Sudha Kartha handed over the documents to general secretary Shahi Prabhakaran.

Arts and cultural activities will be held as part of the regional conventions to be held in May-June, 2009.

On the second day of the meet, the office bearers will visit various hotels and convention centres in New York and then will take a decision on where to convene the convention in 2010.

Most probably Albany, the capital of the state of New York, may be the venue of the convention.
